Zen and the art of BATHROOM design

July 7, 2012

I started collecting a group of bathroom shots that I liked and quickly realized that they had much in common.  I’m sure it doesn’t come as a surprise to you that I lean towards bright, clean and simple bathrooms.  For me a bathroom is a place that should feel somewhat unadorned.   A simple – that doesn’t mean boring or not pretty –  place that is designed and appointed well without too many visual “bells and whistles” is what I’m talking about.  Quality stone or tile, attractive hardware and fixtures and a fresh palette are all you really need to make a bathroom everything it needs to be… an organized functional space that is well-lit, clean feeling and yes, attractive.  Leave out the do-dads, trinkets, snap-shots and other bric-a-brac and give yourself the gift of a mini spa-like bathroom in your very own home.

I love clean, bright and white bathrooms and the different textures and patterns definitely add visual interest while maintaining the light and airy look. Great photos!
