Andrew Martin

March 7, 2012

Andrew Martin is UK’s fastest growing furnishing company distributing to over 51 countries worldwide. The company has been described as ‘a barometer of style for our era’.  Managing Director Martin Waller’s philosophy is to provide simple yet innovative designs with global inspiration – using distinctive colours and textured fabrics.  He translates crafts and cultural traditions found on his travels, into stylish, contemporary creations.
Andrew Martin remains ahead of the field, constantly introducing new ideas that are widely copied by the rest of the industry.  Amongst Martin’s design innovations are calligraphy, kelim, heraldic and animal designs.   The brand was originally aimed at the interior design trade market, and created interest due to the fact that Andrew Martin was offering the antithesis of the popular ‘chintz’ look of the era.

Principally beginning with hand woven silks from Thailand, the collection was gradually expanded to include furniture, wall coverings and accessories – attracting an international market.  The Andrew Martin brand is now distributed worldwide via top fabric houses such as Kravet (USA), Pierre Frey (France) and Decortex (Italy), in over 55 countries. There are also showrooms in Athens, Moscow and New York.  Beautiful right? Well it doesn’t end there… Andrew Martin also produces an incredible line of wallpapers.  Not only are these papers good looking they have been photographed so amazingly well, just look at these incredible still-lifes…

Available through Surroundings, Mattapoisett MA and better interior designers world wide.

Okay, you really got my attention with his designer…what wonderful work. His web site is fantastic (bet HE doesn’t have a WHITE KITCHEN).

Ginger – Andrew Martin has a look that I would have bet you’d love, work traveler meets south western hippie meets New York hipster. Arnt the shots amazingly rich? The stylist deserves a raise.

Any chance you are headed out my way in the near future? Would love to catch up!
