Bathroom Perfection

February 6, 2012

This shower door is so cool.  It reminds me of the industrial windows I love in older buildings, sadly being slowly replaced because they are not energy efficient.  I’m all for green living but these metal framed windows have such good looks, I know I’d be willing to live with a draft and if that’s not an option… then living with them as shower doors is a no brainer.  As a shower door, it might have the industrial look, but it’s softened with the traditional lines and upscale materials in other furnishings found in this particular bathroom.

High ceilings with beams are great, but when you’re lucky enough to have them in the bathroom, even better.  This bathroom is perfect and the details are well thought out and follow-through on the vibe the ceiling creates.  The rustic beams make the drapery hardware the right choice, chrome or something too slick would not have suited the room.

I admit this last one is sort of ordinary… but I think that’s why I like it so much.  It’s simple and easy with quality stone floors and tub surround.  Understated can be such a breath of fresh air.  The twig table and botanicals are just enough decoration to pull this soft tonal room together.  The open shelves are handy and add texture and interest as well.  And, who doesn’t love bead-board?

  2. Oooh, that shower door is totally cool, Bill. I make stained glass windows & doors — now I’m truly inspired to do our shower.

    Thanks for posting.
