Just in Time for Thanksgiving, er… um Christmas! the Cherumple! Pastry chef David Lowery made this 21 lb. 10 oz. concoction for guests at the Grand Geneva Resort in Wisconsin (where else?) and I’m sorta feeling it. The idea of more than one flavor in a desert is a good one, sure to be a crowd pleaser, a three in one gives way better odds of everyone around the table finding something they like on their Christmas dessert plate. It’s a Cherry pie, a pumpkin pie and an apple pie baked into a layer cake! I think I like the idea of this, however I will however make mine it a bit differently… I might simply do a three layer cake, each layer a different flavor. Pumpkin, Chocolate, and eggnog maybe… Chocolate, Peppermint and Red Velvet? Pumpkin, Red Velvet, Carrott…But the even bigger question is what frosting goes with all three? Cream cheese frosting?!?
