Trina Turk

Trina Turks’s dramatic collection of indoor/outdoor prints for Schumacher, many of which were originally designed for her resort collections, are inspired by the poolside lifestyle of Los Angeles and Palm Springs.  She drew from the variety of cultural influences and landscapes that are found in California… bold geometric patterns rein and reflect Trina’s extensive collection of vintage apparel. The color palette of this collection is fashion-influenced; bright and breezy shades of turquoise, citron, watermelon and marine are combined with smart neutrals such as sand dune and charcoal, giving these outdoor suitable prints a thoroughly modern appeal… Think Lilly P meets Angie D.

A vintage men’s printed shirt from Trina Turk’s summer collection inspires the graphic geometric Amazing Maze. This Sunbrella solution-dyed acrylic woven offers indoor style and color with durability and lightfastness suitable for outdoor spaces. A vivid contrast of spring green and white, the fabric has been washed for an extra soft and I mean soft ( this fabric would be delicious as slip-covers or maybe even outdoor bedding? cozy summer throw?

Updating exotic Asian motifs in a completely modern manner, Trina Turk scales this dramatic Paradise print for statement making cushions and pillows. Spring green and ocean blue come alive against a pool blue background to create this vivid medallion. The fabric’s extra lightfastness allows for both indoor and outdoor use… Pillow perfect!

On-trend ikat (yep designers and fashion insiders are still loving this pattern, old is new again) partners with a flamestitch peacock motif in this statement-making print by Ms. Turk. Pool-inspired blues come together with a pop of green to work perfectly with other patterns in the collection, all with a modern yet exotic vibe. The acrylic twill fabric’s dramatic scale is equally suited for curtains, upholstery and pillows while an extra lightfastness allows for – you guessed it – both indoor and outdoor use.

A modern beachy graphic captures the casual sophistication of the California coast in pillow form. Don’t worry if you live on the East Coast, this fresh pillow bursting with color will shake things up on any coast.  The vivid design with its richly embroidered bloom in ocean blues and greens blends with other solids and prints for a pop of color tossed on any sofa, chair or bed. Handcrafted from 100% linen.  Visit Me at Surroundings to see the entire collection, call your local decorator, or check out Schumacher on-line.
