Im Working On It

March 18, 2011

Here is a drawing of a clients potential kitchen drawn by Roomscapes out of Rockland MA. We are still tweaking the final design ( cabinets to the ceiling vs a dropped band of uppers, etc) but were close.  The kitchen is in new construction and it will be open to the family room, dining area and living room so we are going for a non-kitchen kitchen. Minimal hardware, all appliances will be paneled, and there will be no pendants, hood or tiled back splash. Instead were installing a solid slab back-splash (white granite or White Rhino marble) and were hiding the tilt out hood with panels designed to match the cabinets. The wow factor in this kitchen will be the quality wood and high gloss finish of the cabinetry, the natural stone counters and back-splash and the slab clad island and breakfast bar wrapped almost entirely in natural stone. I’m calling it Zen-Wow.  The Island in the images above is pretty lackluster but we have taken it from super boring to super by redesigning the shape and waterfall the stone down the sides of the mass.  The over-hang and sides are double thickness stone and the entire side of the island will be stone clad.  I can’t wait to see this installed.
