Seven Days Of Lights – Day Five

November 22, 2010

This uber-traditional chandelier can be found at the Met in NYC.  I’m pretty sure this fixture dates to the late 1800’s… even back the  they knew that company usually gathered in the dining room and more often in the evening all reasons special care should be taken when choosing lighting for this room especially.  Candlelight would always be my first choice in a dining room but small warm bulbs work too and when you incorporate the sparkle… magic!  My best advice is no matter your style or light you choose in  the dining room, put it on a dimmer.  Your guests will thank you and your room will be prettier for it (not to mention your guests).  Think about how and when you use your dining room to help guide you to the perfect light.  still not sure?  Ask me.
