White Kitchens

Traditional White.  You can’t really go wrong with this classic combination of white cabinets, dark countertops and warm wood floors.  The bead-board inset on the island is the purrr-fect amount of texture mixed with the open and divided light shelves we see in the background.  Love that some cabinetry has doors and others were left open.  I think if this were my kitchen I’d strip the floors back to natural and let them patina and I would hone the granite countertops and bring that shine down, but it feels clean and new for those finicky chefs… I get that.  It is also refreshing to see these small but interestingly detailed ceiling lights.   Probably from Visual Comfort, I saw an updated and slightly more glammy version of these lights by Thomas O’Brien ( for Visual Comfort ).  Love them but the spirited nautical version in the image is great too.  Here is the one from Thomas O’brien…
