Did I ever post a shot from the job I did on Nantucket this summer? Well here is a shot of the family friendly TV room (missing the lamps). Everything was chosen with wet bathing suits and grape jelly in mind because the clients hope is that the house is filled with family and there children as often as possible and wanted to worry about nothing. The pair of sofas are slip-covered for easy washing (we even used a Sunbrella fabric on the Living room sofas to ensure durability).

I have to say this client has to be one of the best I have ever worked for. There was a good budget, buy nothing crazy. She knew what she liked and didn’t like but was open to my perspective. And she wanted a livable home but didn’t want every detail done for her… We both like the idea of the house slowly filling with found objects, shopping finds, family pieces and things made by the children. And since we built the house from the ground up, the budget didn’t really allow for the house to be “done done” if you know what I mean.  I brought in a few pieces of art, but the house is really not “finished”.
