Summer Dreaming

Summer ShackI’m looking forward to a Cape Cod vacation that is coming up soon for me and this HOT summer has got me thinking that a small summer shack that I can call my own is something that is very important to me.  I literally dream about exposed studs and old windows, painted floors and “found” furniture that can be sat in a wet bathing suit… somewhere where you can hear the water lapping on the shore.  I apologize now to all the modern enthusiasts who read my blog, I know I’m seaside, country casual, cottage obsessed right now but part of the appeal of those styles is the escape… the escape for things being prefect, everything just so.  The vacation is the escape from responsibilities like work, bills, and the answering machine, did you know I have an answering machine phobia?  So for me living part-time in an environment like this during the summer months ( OK, maybe spring and fall too ) facilitates an easier way of living, where the things like a BBQ with friends is what’s important, not who’s fabric you have on your new sofa.
